Skills Clinics: Thursday 1-5 pm

Check In:

  • Express Lift Café in the Vail Resorts Lift Ticket building by Gondola 1

  • 11:30 AM - 12: 30 PM prior to the clinics.

  • During this time, you can also check in for the race and pick up your participant bag and info.

  • You may also check in other racers with the appropriate paperwork. 

  • All skills clinics participants need to be checked in and ready to go for the clinics by 12:45 p.m. 

  • Procedure: When you arrive at Express Lift, please have your child(ren) take their bike to the clinic meeting spot or bike corral just past Express Lift

  • All clinic groups will leave from the clinic meeting spot at 12:50 p.m. and return there at 5 p.m. after the clinics are complete.

  • If you are late for the clinics, it will be your responsibility to get your child to their group.

  • The kids will be riding their bikes between locations.

  • Please be at Express Lift no later than 5 p.m. to pick them up.

What to Bring (per participant):

  • (Mountain)-bikes (with knobby tires), pumped up tires, working breaks

  • Bike helmets

  • Bike gloves

  • Race backpacks with all mandatory gear:

  • Water

  • Snack

  • Sunscreen

  • Light wind/rain Jacket

  • Small First Aid Kit: Ziplock bag with disinfectant wipes, Neosporin, band aid

Clinic Schedule: 

  • Red-band: Group A -> Mountain Biking -> Adventure Racing -> Teamwork -> Climbing

  • Blue-band: Group B -> Adventure Racing -> Teamwork -> Climbing -> Mountain Biking

  • Green-band: Group C -> Teamwork -> Climbing -> Mountain Biking -> Adventure Racing

  • Yellow-band:  Group D -> Climbing -> Mountain Biking -> Adv Racing - Teamwork   

Clinic Locations:

  • Mountain Biking - Meets behind Ski Club Vail at Golden Peak base area. Coached by Tamara Mountain Bike Club instructors.

  • Teamwork - Meets at Roger Staub Park on Gore Creek opposite the Founders Garage. Coached by SOS Outreach's Meet the Wilderness instructors.

  • Climbing - Meets at the Mill Creek Road lawn, behind the Tivoli Lodge. Coached by climbing instructors.

  • Adventure Racing 101 – Meets inside of the Lift Ticket Office at Gondola 1. Coached by Margaret Ritz, Timberline Tours.

If your child has any special needs such as dietary restrictions, allergies (bees, nuts, etc.) or anything else we should know about, please let your clinic guides know before they depart.
